HorseFlex Willow Bark consists of 100% natural bark from the white willow (Salix alba), a tree from the willow family recognizable in spring by its yellow catkins. Not the leaves or flowers, but the bark—the living layer beneath the outer bark—contains valuable substances that have been used for centuries in traditional herbal medicine.
Willow bark naturally contains salicin, a substance that can be converted into salicylic acid in the horse's body. This natural compound is known for its relieving and relaxing properties, making willow bark a popular herb to support movement comfort, joints, and muscles of horses.
It naturally contributes to supple movement and can be used in various situations:
- Horses experiencing stiffness in muscles or joints
- Older horses that could use some extra comfort
- Sport horses undergoing intensive training
- Young growing horses
- Horses that move a bit stiffly during cold periods
Willow bark can be given both temporarily and long-term, depending on the horse's needs. Especially in winter, when cold and dampness affect suppleness, it is a valuable supplement.
Do not give during competitions and not suitable for pregnant or nursing mares.
