FMH - Leather bit with curb strap ‘Native’ Bridleless bit

Handmade leather bit with chin strap, made of natural leather. The leather is deliberately untreated: no dye bath, leather oil, leather grease, or other form of coloring has been used. With use, the leather becomes increasingly supple and gradually molds to the horse's mouth.

The chin strap helps keep the bit stable in the mouth. The bit has no mechanical leverage and is intended for calm and gentle contact. A gentle, quiet rider's hand is essential here.

Before first use: important!

Because the bit is made of untreated leather, it must be prepared before first use.

Soak the bit completely in sunflower oil or olive oil for 24 hours. This makes the leather supple and allows it to mold properly to the horse's mouth.

Do not use leather oil, leather grease, or other leather care products. Maintain the bit exclusively with sunflower oil or olive oil and ensure that the leather always remains soft and supple.

Use

A leather bit is used, among other things, for calm and refined riding, when training horses and riders, and in forms of riding such as so-called Indian riding.

Please note: This bit is not a toy or chew toy. Check it for wear or damage before each use. Only use the bit with a correct fit and a gentle rider's hand. A horse may react awkwardly or sensitively to the new material the first time it is used.
